Eliminate Stress

Cause of Depression

Before you try to eliminate your depression … you must know why it happens!

Do you know the ‘true’ cause of depression? Did you know if you try to eliminate your depression and don’t know this … you will ultimately fail!

The causes are not what you think. They are also not complicated, and best of all the ‘true’ cause is very easy to eliminate.

Traditionally you are told that your depression comes from issues in your past, upheavals, emotional events or circumstances that have created you to feel depressed.

Well this is incorrect!

If you look back at your past issues you have had, and they could have been major or minor, you were not alone. You probably had a friend or family member who was going through the same stresses as yourself. But …

They didn’t become depressed … why?

The ‘true’ cause of depression does not lie in the events or circumstances, or even the many past issues you may have. The ‘true’ cause of depression lies inside you (don’t worry you are not to blame).

What is your ‘true’ cause of depression?

When I say it lies inside you, to be precise it is all in your mind. Now don’t click the back button yet, let me explain…

Day to day stresses, major stresses or events, and other depressing stresses have trained you to be depressed.

The initial stresses will drop your energy levels and your emotional state … which then creates a depression state. This happens with everyone not just you.

Most of you (including me) have had times when stresses have got you down. The problem is this …

If the events last a period of time, or the stresses repeat over a period of time, a change happens. It is called … habit.

It takes 31 days to form a habit as an adult. It takes less when you are a child.

Once habits form, your mind and body accept what ever that has occurred as ‘true’. You are now depressed and inside you the acceptance is that you are depressed. This is now your normal, common state.

This is not a conscious decision, as nobody wants to be depressed. It is just an internal habitual change.

Your body and mind change accordingly. Your energy levels plummet, brain chemistry changes, organs slow and various depression symptoms start to occur.

These changes are not dramatic. They have occurred over years possibly. These habitual changes may have started when you were a child. Slowly day by day the habits have eaten away at your emotional and energy levels. Then as each stress occurs (major or minor), your levels drop further and further. You become more and more depressed.

Did you notice the change … do you notice it now?

Most of you never woke up one day and said … “what is the cause of depression, why has it happened to me?”

It has just built up slowly and then one day you looked back and noticed you weren’t the same old you. That happy, caring, light hearted self had disappeared … and was replaced by a depressed you.

You may have initially looked at the cause of depression. You might have tried to place the blame on an event, issue or even a person.

But the ‘true’ cause of depression is your habitual mind. Nothing or nobody to blame, including yourself.

This is just how your mind and body work, with everything. The cause of your depression is habit and to remove the cause you must change the habit.

Medication, therapy and most natural alternatives never address your ‘true’ cause of depression. They deal with the symptoms only. Which is okay … you don’t want to feel depressed do you?

But to remove your depression once and forever, you need to remove the cause … habit.

Or you will fail!

Removing your depression is a simple process. The cause of depression is habit; the solution is changing the habit. It takes 31 day to form a habit … it takes 31 days to break a habit.

Symptoms can disappear quicker, but the underlying cause of depression takes 31 days to change. Permanent change takes a full year. You need to go through 4 seasons, 12 months, 52 weeks , 365 days … for a habit to be permanent. (permanent is still changeable … it just takes 31 days, one year …)

Hence you need to use ways that are easy, take minimal time, change the habitual cause of depression and hopefully are fun to do.

Eliminating the cause of depression is simple and achievable. Aiming to just eliminate the symptoms will ultimately lead to failure. The only cure of the cause of depression is to … change habit!
