Are You in the Right Job?
Choosing the right job that is best for you is not always a simple task. It also takes time and usually effort, to determine which job is best suited to your particular set of skills.
Do you know if you are in the right job?
Take a look at your chosen career like this. If you won $5million today, would you still be doing the same job? If you said yes, then you are in the best job.
If you said no, then you need to look for a change. Change can be a complete career change, a change in your working hours or a change in what you do at work.
No matter what job you do, there are certain aspects that you will never like. Some you can change, some you can delegate to others, but certain tasks need to be done and by you.
So change the tasks you can change and the one's you can't change, you need to put in a stress management technique to deal with the stress it creates. More importantly, you need to look at the positives and negatives of your current job.
If the negatives outweigh the positives, then change your occupation. This is not necessarily easy to do. But to create a more stress-free working life you need to address the issue.
To make a positive change, you need to look at -
- What type of work you enjoy most
- What hours you prefer to work
- What pay scale you need to have to live on comfortably
Write these down and then look at the training you need to do to get there. Set a plan in motion to attain your goals in realistic timeframes. Aim for the job you want, work out who to see and what to do to get there. Then just start heading in that direction.
