Change in modern lifestyle has affected the mankind badly, leading to increase in stress level. When someone experiences pressure in a specific condition, unnatural psychological responses are generated in their minds leading to stress.

Valium (also known as diazepam) and Xanax (known as alprazolam) are prescribed to treat anxiety disorders. Valium on one sidetreats muscle contraction, long term sleep disorders, and acute alcohol withdrawals. On the other hand, Xanax helps in treating stress with depression and panic disorders.Both of them enhance the neurotransmitter named GABA that supplies signals throughout the body. One feels anxiety disorder only when the amount of GABA is found less in the body. Even though both are used to treat anxiety disorders, they have some unique difference that one should take notice before using it.
Valium (Diazepam): It is available in tablet as well as liquid form. Once consumed, it is quite slow in taking effect and lasts for a longer time. Valium may be used for treating children, but it is not completely approved to treat panic disorders.
Xanax (Alprazolam): Available in tablet form, Xanax takes a quick effect and with its quick metabolic effect, it doesn’t tend to stay for a long period of time. It is not advised for children and it is approved to treat panic disorders.
In case of having an allergic reaction to any drug, glaucoma, respiratory issues or any drug dependency history, do not try to consume Xanax or Valium. It may lead to various reactions that are allergic and difficult to bear for the body.

Take the advice of doctors or pharmacists before consuming any kind of medicine because its impact may lead to several disorders. Those medications affecting the central nervous system can react with benzodiazepines and become dangerous by causing respiratory problems.
Pregnant Women should avoid these drugs
Women should not consume Xanax or Valium while they are experiencing pregnancy. There are chances that these drugs may harm the babies which are yet to be born. Even after the child is born, the drugs may get passedto them through breast feeding.
So, both Valium and Xanax have their own effects in various conditions (also includes acute anxiety), one can choose the best one based on their symptoms, conditions and prescription of the doctors and help themselves in minimizing stress levels.
